Exactify builds comparison tools that work from your real numbers instead of a category someone has sorted you into. BillCheck is the first of them: it compares South East Queensland electricity plans against your actual bill.
We take no commission. No retailer pays us for a switch, a click, or a position in the list. That single fact shapes everything else on this page.
Nearly every energy comparison site earns a commission when you switch. It's a legitimate business model, and it isn't necessarily dishonest — but it has a predictable effect. Retailers that pay commission get listed. Retailers that don't, often aren't there at all. Over time, “the best plan” and “the best plan that pays us” quietly become the same list.
The second problem is subtler and, we think, worse. To compare plans, most sites need to know your usage — so they ask how many people live in your house, then assign you the average for a household that size. But nobody is average. Two identical houses on the same street can differ by hundreds of dollars a year depending on shift work, a pool pump, solar, or electric hot water.
The cheapest plan for your household appears first, whoever it belongs to. There is no commercial reason for it to appear anywhere else.
We price every South East Queensland plan we can retrieve from the regulator's public data — not a panel of partners.
If you're already on a good plan, that's the answer. Nothing about our position changes whether you switch.
A comparison tool that's usually right is worse than useless, because you can't tell which answer is the wrong one. So we do two things most tools don't.
First, we check our own reading. After extracting the rates from your bill, we re-calculate the bill from them. If that doesn't reproduce the total you were actually charged, we say so rather than quietly pricing off a bad read.
Second, we separate what we can price exactly from what we can only estimate, and label it. Where a plan's structure doesn't match your bill closely enough to be precise — different peak windows, demand charges, wholesale pricing — we tell you that instead of producing a confident-looking number we can't stand behind.
Every change is regression-tested against a set of real, verified bills before it goes live. The dangerous bug in a pricing engine isn't the one that crashes; it's the one that shifts a saving by a few hundred dollars and looks entirely plausible.

We're independent of every energy retailer. We're not a broker, we don't switch you, and we don't act as your agent — we show you the numbers and the retailer's phone number, and you make the call yourself.
BillCheck is in beta, covering South East Queensland electricity, and free while it's there. Figures are indicative — always confirm with the retailer before switching.
If you spot something wrong, we genuinely want to hear it. Accuracy is the entire product, and a bill that breaks our reading is more useful to us than a hundred that don't. Get in touch.
