The short version: We built BillCheck to compare electricity plans from your actual bill without taking retailer commissions. We don't sell your data, we don't run advertising trackers, and we never store your name, address, or account number. This page explains exactly what happens to your information.
BillCheck ("we", "us") is a tool that compares South East Queensland electricity plans against your own bill. BillCheck is part of Exactify (exactify.com.au), operated by Mango Private Wealth Pty Ltd (ABN 22 160 640 684). If you have any privacy question or request, contact us through our contact form.
When you upload a photo or PDF of your electricity bill, it is sent securely to our bill-reading service (powered by Anthropic's API) to extract the numbers we need to compare plans — your usage in kWh, the rates and charges, the tariff type, the billing period, and the total.
To make sure our comparisons stay accurate as more people use the tool, we keep a de-identified copy of the energy figures from bills that are checked. Before anything is stored, we remove the personal details:
We use this only to test and improve the accuracy of our extraction and pricing. We do not use it to contact you and we do not sell or share it.
If you choose to enter your email to be notified about the full/live version, we store that email address for that single purpose — to let you know when it's ready. You can ask us to remove it at any time by emailing us. We won't add you to marketing lists or pass your address to anyone else.
If you leave feedback (a thumbs rating and an optional comment), we store your comment and the headline result you saw so we can improve the tool. Please don't include personal details in the comment box.
BillCheck does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking or analytics services. We don't build a profile of you across the web.
These providers may process data on servers outside Australia. We only share what is described on this page, and only for the purposes described.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — including removing your email from the waitlist. Get in touch through our contact form and we'll action it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
BillCheck is currently in beta and the figures are indicative. Always verify with the retailer before switching. Comparisons are calculated from the data on your bill and publicly filed plan data; we're not paid by any retailer.
